About Verdella
Rebuilding and recovery after Domestic and Family Violence can often be difficult. The important thing is that you are taking a positive step forward in taking part in this program. The Verdella program is here to provide support and guidance in your journey to rebuild and thrive.
Verdella is proudly supported by the Office for Women, Queensland Government
How does it work?
The Verdella program offers 9 modules, which you can complete based on your needs. You can start with one or several modules and return later to finish others, giving you full control. Each module takes about 2 hours but is divided into activities, allowing progress in 15-20 minute intervals.
The program is available any time and each module includes:
Introduction video
Each module will include an introduction, providing an overview of information, key activities and resources available.
Preparation exercises
Our focus exercises to help you feel calm as you undertake the each activity and prepare for the journey ahead.
Support and guidance
We will provide resources, insights and check-ins along the way, so you will feel supported in your journey.
Interactive worksheet
Each module will include a downloadable worksheet to track your progress and reflect as needed.
“I really like the fresh feel of the program – it’s light and comforting, and it didn’t feel like I was sitting at a computer. I didn’t feel alone – the program came across with care and warmth.”
Our story
Rebuild and thrive
Jo Mason, the founder of the Verdella program, lived with domestic and family violence for 5 years, having a devastating impact on her life, affecting her career, social connections, finances and confidence.
After leaving her relationship, Jo received valuable assistance from a specialist service, which helped her understand what had occurred and provided immediate support. However, as she started to recover, she found that there was limited support for after DFV and recovery. Jo realised that there was an opportunity to empower and assist other victim survivors to look forward, rebuild and thrive.
Over the next few years, Jo (now a qualified coach) worked with DV specialists and other victim survivors to develop the Verdella program.
Today, Jo is the CEO of WorkHaven, an organisation that supports workplaces and communities to address DFV in a relevant and meaningful way. She has reconnected with friends, rebuilt financially and enjoys travel and adventure.
When I left my DV relationship, it felt like everything was broken, and I realised I couldn’t get back on track by myself. The Verdella program has been specifically designed to empower people like me, who have been affected by DFV, to feel supported and empowered to move forward.
DFV doesn’t define you – you can rebuild and thrive.
