About Verdella

Verdella is a trauma-informed, evidence-based program supporting people to rebuild their lives after Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). How does it work?

Verdella consists of 9 self-paced modules that you can complete based on your own needs and readiness. You don’t need to complete them in order – you can start with one or several and return to others whenever you’re ready. Each module takes around two hours in total but is broken into activities of 15–20 minutes, so you can make progress in whatever time you have.

The program is available any time, and every module includes:

Is the Verdella program trauma-informed?

Yes. Verdella has been designed from the ground up as a trauma-informed program. The content is easy to navigate, and participants can choose the modules and activities that are most relevant to them – there is no pressure to engage with content before you feel ready.

“Verdella is a trauma-informed program. The program content is easy to use and users can choose the content that is of interest to them.” – Professor Sharyn Rundle-Thiele, Griffith University

Who created the Verdella program?

Verdella was founded by Jo Mason, who lived with domestic and family violence for five years – an experience that affected her career, finances, social connections and confidence. After leaving, Jo received support from a specialist service, but found there was very little structured help available for the recovery journey that followed.

Determined to change that, Jo trained as a qualified coach and spent several years working alongside DV specialists and other victim survivors to develop Verdella. Today, Jo is the CEO of WorkHaven, an organisation that supports workplaces and communities to address DFV in meaningful ways. She has rebuilt her finances, reconnected with friends, and lives a life she loves.

Jo Mason, Founder of Verdella

When I left my DV relationship, it felt like everything was broken, and I realised I couldn’t get back on track by myself. The Verdella program has been specifically designed to empower people like me – who have been affected by DFV – to feel supported and empowered to move forward. DFV doesn’t define you.

You can rebuild and thrive.
